48-72 hours: Certainly, you can pump in advance to take over the few days you will have to assure any alcohol or cigarette carcinogens are out of your system, but too bad you can not just hold off on the smoking and alcohol for this one year? If you do decide the former course of action, do not forget to pump for those days off too, so your breasts stay lactating. Good luck.
