can my body still make vitamin d if i take a shower immediately after sun exposure? my dr. insists that i need to wait a few hours before i shower.

Nonsense: You do not have to wait before showering. Many people are vitamin d deficient in spite of adequate sun exposure. Check a vitamin d level and consider vitamin d supplement if the level is low.
