Depends: Here is the delicate problem of this tests: if you really dont want to have a baby with down sdr and you are willing to interrupt the pregnancy, then go ahead and get the test done. If you will maintain the pregnancy no matter what , getting a positive test will make you live with guild and negative feelings for the rest of pregnancy. Best thing is to get a maternal fetal medicine specialist opinion.

Depends: Anyone is at risk for a baby with down syndrome. If testing shows that you are at high risk, the risks of having a baby with down synedrome are higher than the risk of pregnancy loss. The loss with amniocentesis is only 1 in 1600 in experienced hands. The only way to know whether your baby is affected or not is to have an amniocentesis.

Other methods too: They can do a quite specific test on fetal cells that circulate in your blood.Initially developed for paternity testing, the NIPP can be done as early as 8 wks and can also be used to study for Down syndrome or genetic issues.

What are some healthy ways to get a crying baby to stop crying?

List of fixes: It helps if mom/dad make a list of what things they can do something about, for those times they are tired & can't think clearly. Offer feed if not fed within last 2hr. Warm if cold. Cool off if warm. Change if dirty. Console if in need of nurturing. A warm bath can relax them. If nothing works & baby is otherwise well, put on the headphones & let the kid figure it out.

How can I keep from stressing about my unborn baby's being normal and myhealth?

Prenatal stress: You should talk to ur OB & if he/she tells you everything is okay you should not stress yourself. The baby feels your stress as well so it would be better to let your doctor worry &stress for your & your baby's health if needed. You should enjoy your pregnancy&be happy. If your doctor told you some thing is wrong, there may be other things you could do besides stressing. Use ur energy positively.

At conception: A baby's gender is determined at the time of conception. Depending on the tests done fetal sex can be determined at various times. In normal pregnancy fetal sex can be determined by testing mother;s blood at 7 weeks. In case of in-vitro fertilization, it could be determined before the embryo is implanted.

Depends: Bleeding, spotting and discharge after having a baby is very normal. The time will vary from person to person. Usually it stops within 3-6 weeks. Breastfeeding women sometimes will have irregular spotting instead of normal periods due to the hormonal changes.

Concern not confirm: The american academy of pediatrics has developed testing to screen children within the first two years of life at risk for autism spectrum disorder. Questionnaire forms are used as well as performance tests. Concern may indicate referral for behavior therapy. It may take a few years before definite diagnosis is possible.
