A 17-year-old female asked:

See your eye doctor: There are many causes of red eye, this includes eye irritation, infection or inflammation. You could also have a bruise or bleeding under the lining of the eye causing the redness. If one eye is bigger and not able to close well, this could cause eye redness, irritation, tearing or pain. This should be evaluated by an eye doctor to rule out causes of the eye asymmetry and redness.

One eye open more: It is possible your medications can due this depending on what they are. It would be wise to have your thyroid gland evaluated since and overacting gland (hyperthyroidism) is the most commonest cause for one eye being open more widely.
