Uh-uh: It's not what you're eating, it's the excess calories. If you eat more than you use, you store the rest as fat. When you choose your foods, bear in mind that 1 gram of sugar is 4 calories, while 1 gram of fat is 9. So eating fat is likely to be a lot more caloric than eating sugar on a fixed weight basis.
