Unlikely : Hib vaccine is helpful when given early in life to build antibiodies that protect the infant/kid from hib disease later in life.It can be given as early as 6 weeks. It is of no benefit when given to a kid in the middle of hib disease (takes 2 or more weeks to generate antibodies).

Prepared antibody: The HIB vaccine allows the body to prepare blocking antibodies ahead of time.Antibodies form to the vaccine antigen that will be immediately available to the patient if they are ever exposed to the germ, so the germ is prevented from invading the body.
