The question with irregular periods is ovulation.: Ovulation is necessary to get pregnant. If periods are irregular then consistent monthly ovulation is not likely. Home ovulation tests or a blood test can be done to confirm. Clomid (clomiphene) is a commonly used medication to promote ovulation. Overweight patients with pcos may begin to ovulate after weight loss.

Takes two to tangle: You might be infertile, but you are only one half the pregnancy equation. 40 % of infertility causes are MALE. So if you are unable to get pregnant with unprotected intercourse for at least one year, you and you partner both need to see a MD- GYN for you and FP or Urologist for him.

Fertility: Unfortunately that answer will not come from the internet. There are chemical, hormonal and mechanical causes of this problem. First the cause of the 'irregularity' must be determined to give you any valid medical advice.
