Lots of causes: This is a complex question. A number of different variables come into play - your age, the medications you take, your gynecologic history, your stress levels, etc. I am assuming your periods are usually less than 7 days. It is normal for menstruation to be variable. If the bleeding doesn't stop, or if your period remain erratic, seek care. Your doctor will be able to get to the bottom of it.

Depends: If a patient has had surgery, they will most generally form adhesions. This is very true for women who've had cesarean delivery. If the goal is pain reduction, it may be worth have laparoscopy, but if just curious, may not be worth the risk involved having surgery.

Need Gynecology Eval: Vaginal bleeding is not always your menstrual peiod. Sometimes women get miscarriages that happen about the time that they expect their periods. Also, there are a lot of conditions that can develop in the uterus that can cause bleeding such as fibroids, uterine polyps, cancer, infections, etc. Your sister should go and see her pcp or a gynecologist for an evaluation of her vaginal bleeding.
