Efficient processing: The nutrient content is well designed with minimal indigestible elements. When processed by the digestive tract it leaves behind so little debris, that delay in final stooling is common. In comparison, formulas have residual indigestible debris in much higher amounts, so stooling more often is necessary.

Digestible: Breast milk is very easily digestible. Nearly all the nutrients are absorbed and there is very little fiber which passes into bowel movements. It is completely normal for breast fed babies to have soft bowel movements every 1-4 days. Call your doctor if the stools are very hard- like little balls- or if the stools are extremely watery.
