Yes: That would be ideal. Brush and floss after meals. Also watch what you eat and avoid refined sugars and sticky starchy foods that contribute to cavities.

Of course: However, it's not about how often you brush, it's about how well you brush.

Whitening strips: I am not a dentist, but here is what works for me. Be sure to get regular cleanings at the dentist. Avoid cola, tea and coffee. Avoid blueberries. Floss every day. Do not brush too hard or you may damage your teeth and gums. Over the counter whitening strips can help remove the yellow color. Use as directed.

How bad is it to brush your teeth 10-20 times a day?

Dr. Anna Guarna answered

Why not cut back: 3x/day is sufficient...If you feel that you're having bad breath issues, there are products that can help. Also, be certain to floss to remove bacteria between teeth.
Generally, brushing too much/frequently/hard can damage the enamel along the gumline.

After every meal: I am sure you have heard it before, you should always bruch and floss after every meal. New studies show that it is best to wait a half an hour after you eat to brush and floss.

Could having TMJ cause my teeth to grind during the day time?

LIkely the other way: It is more than likely that your grinding is exacerbating your tmj. Would be worth your while to look into solutions for your TMJ by speaking with a dentist or ent. Good luck!
