A 35-year-old member asked:
please tell me, could patulous eustachian tube be made temporarily worse by a cold/flu?

Not likley: Colds and upper respiratory infections cause inflammation to the mucosa lining the eustachian tube causing it to narrow secondary to swelling and edema. This usually temporarily improves symptoms in patients affected by a patulous eustachian tube.
