Yes: Male pattern baldness often starts by the early 20s. It is not related to the amount of body hair.

It is common.: This is called androgenetic alopecia or male pattern hair loss. The hair on your scalp is sensitive to a hormone called Dht which causes it to fall off in individuals that are genetically susceptible to this. It only affects hair on your scalp even if you have an abundance of hair everywhere else on your body.
