See a doctor: Go see your pcp, any family or internal med doc can diagnose a hernia. If indeed diagnosed, chose your favorite friendly neighborhood general surgeon.

Depends: Groin hernias are very common. Usually a lump in the groin the is larger when standing or coughing. If you're not sure and want to find out, see your primary care. If you're sure, and want an opinion regarding repair, see a general surgeon for a consultation. You can find surgeons interested in hernia disease at the Americas Hernia Society website. Hope this helps!
