Can you tell me about delivering a baby that had a large omphalocele?

Pediatrics 46 years experience
Plan ahead: These infants do best if delivered by c/section in a hospital with neonatal ICU capabilities and neonatologists/pediatric surgeons ready for the delivery. Stabilization of the infants airway and IV access ; ng tube are placed as soon after birth as possible and the specialists begin planning for repair. Early transfer to a capable hospital is needed if outborn or at a smaller facility.
