please help! what is the difference between a "trauma center" and an "emergency room"?

Trauma/ER confusion.: There are many confusing terms out there! emergency room or department, trauma center, ... All are er's. If you are having an emergency get to the closest one! but they don't all have the same resources. If you need emergency care from a specialist you may need to get transferred to a larger hospital. Ambulances will take severe injured patients directly to er's that have trauma surgeons 24/7.
