what is paget's of the bone? the breast/

1 doctor answer
Dr. Devon Webster
21 years experience Medical Oncology
Same name: Both diseases were named by sir james paget. Paget's disease of bone is the abnormal breakdown and build-up of bone. This causes painful malformed bones. It is a benign condition treated with medication. Paget's disease of the nipple is a type of cancer. It looks like an itchy rash or eczema on the nipple, but if biopsied it shows the abnormal cancerous cells. It is treated surgically.
