Low: When used properly condoms are quite effective for contraception and for std prevention. The failure rate with condoms is as high as 25%, but that is generally due to having relations without the condom "for a while", then putting on the condom before orgasm. Unfortunately for many, some viable sperm can be released before orgasm, that can result in an unwanted pregnancy.
