Do you know are regular xrays reliable in diagnoising bowel obstructions?

Interventional Radiology 20 years experience
Yes: Plain X-rays are very good at diagnosing bowel obstructions and ruling out other acute abdominal processes. CT scan are better at determining the cause of the obstruction. Of course, a proper history and physical exam is the best starting point.
