Minimally invasive: I am assuming that you mean sooner than if you had an abdominal hysterectomy(tah). The TAH requires general anesthesia (in most cases), cutting through the layers of the abdominal wall and involves more physical contact with the bowel. A TVH or vaginal hysterectomy is done through a "natural orifice" with no damage to the abdominal layers, minimal contact with the bowel, less pain.
