Any severe injury: Can benefit from rehabilitation. Rehabilitation is not just getting back to normal function after the injury, but also helping avoid further injury later on. Any muscle, tendon, ligament or bone injury can benefit from rehabilitation.

Fingertip injury: A good physical therapist with an interest in hand rehabilitation therapy would be a good approach. Call a local pt or ask the pts at your local hospital.

See your doctot: You have to go see your doctor for a complete exam, rule out any major causes-something more serious than just a pinch nerve or compressed nerve. From there, he can give you the best recommendation to solve your problem.

A 34-year-old member asked:
What tips do you have for people going through rehabilitation programs after getting a serious injury?

Dr. Amogh Sahai answered

Depends: recommendations might vary depending on the kind of injury sustained. For instance, a spinal cord injury patient is prone to venous thrombosis so dvt prophylaxis should be in place. They also have neurogenic bowel and bladder so proper training and use of medications at times is needed. They have to be teached on repositioning to avoid decub ulcers, etc. If other problem like tbi then tx varies
