do bras cause breast cancer by not allowing natural cooling of the mammary glands?

Dr. Matt Malkin
Anesthesiology 16 years experience
No: I do not believe there is any evidence for bras increasing cancer risk. Wear what is pleasing to you aesthetically and comfortably.
Dr. Scott Grover
General Surgery 26 years experience
NO: Never heard of this wives tale, but it sounds exactly like one. Not a chance.
Dr. Thomas Fiala
Plastic Surgery 33 years experience
No: That's a myth. Women in colder climates also do not have a lower risk for breast cancer than women in tropical climates.

These false claims are the work of one anti-bra militant. Ignore them.

Bras don't heat boob: There is no scientific basis or link of breast cancer secondary to wearing bras. Women on the east coast have the same predilection for breast cancer as those on the west coast or in the midwest. You may be comparing the breasts to testicular activity being affected by temperature but the breast does not work the same way nor is it affected by heat.
Dr. Ed Friedlander
Pathology 44 years experience
No: That was made up in the 1990s by an anti-bra militant. There's no reason to think it's true.

These fears are kept alive by crooks and venal politicians. The radiation they emit isn't the kind that damages tissue / causes cancer.
