Ingrown nail: The best thing to do is see your podiatrist for assistance. You'll be glad you did.

See a podiatrist: Removal of an ingrown toenail is a simple procedure under local anesthesia. You can try to soak the toe in warm water with epsom salt to soften the skin and then try to lift the nail edge and pack a small piece of cotton under it. Apply antiseptic and bandaid.

Great advice, this is the first time i have seen that cotton/ETOH treatment that i always recommended. It takes some time & some pain 2 get the cotton under the nail leading edge, but it works wonders.

A lump : Is not normal, nor is pain so it's a good reason to visit the foot doctor. You may have a ganglionic cyst which is a benign cyst filled with jelly like fluid but without seeing it you can have something else....Go to the doc for a check up.

Yes: Certain materials may not absorb sweat and may give off a bad odor. Also if the shoe doesn't "breathe".

Ingrown toenail : You may need surgery or antibiotics. Until you get examined soak your foot in warm water and keep it out of tight shoes
