Alcoholism: Yes. Absolutely. But, it can take time. Are you in any program to help you stay sober? To find some relief from the obsession to drink?
Many people get to a point in their drinking where they drink to black out. Alcohol messes so much with the natural ability to sleep that people forget this natural process or their brain does, anyway. It is a common story and relief can come with sobriety.

That is of concern.: How much do you drink? How often? See that you have both fatty liver ; difficulty breathing. Would encourage you to address your insomnia ; your alcohol use with your medical provider. Whether your insomnia is curable will depend on the actual causes of it. Alcohol is one of the major reasons for sleep problems in the us.
