i have kerataconus and wear rgp lenses. my right eye has pain and redness with no apparent cause. it's happened a few times.

Assymetry: Keratconus is almost always assymetrical sometimes not even affecting one eye. While it is possible that the lens bothering you so much needs a better fit, it could also be due to the fact that this eye is worse and has a steeper cone bumping into the lens more often. Check with you ophthalmologist if this is a frequent occurrence.

See an eye doctor: And do this asap. Do not delay on anything affecting the eye because things can go from bad to worse very quickly. See an ophthalmologist, not an optometrist. Hope this clears quickly.
