i've got a yellow thing on my teeth from not brushing, could that stop me from getting braces?

Braces: Before you get braces, your teeth need to be cleaned, and your teeth and gums need to be healthy. Any problem not repaired before you get braces will become worse. If it then needs to be corrected, the braces may have to be removed.
