what is causing the left side of my upper shoulder down to my lower back to hurt badly?

Dr. Jennifer Tucker

Muscle spasms: You are describing an area that correlates with muscles surrounding the spine. A physical exam is sometimes all that is necessary to determine your diagnosis. If your symptoms have lasted longer then a few weeks, you may receive x-rays. After your physician evaluates you, you may receive medication ;/or physical therapy that can alleviate your symptoms.
