Night reflux nausea: Severe acid breakthrough. We make a burst of acid between 3-5 am. This can cause not only reflux but the nausea as well. You can test this idea by taking an otc omeprazole. If it goes away on the medication it is definitely acid reflux, unless you are pregnant!
