Time for recovery: Usually experienced full healing by 18-24 months, but may be faster in some pts. Assuming you possess "post concussional syndrome", resolution may be seen within 6-8 weeks. Problems beyond the 8 week duration may imply post traumatic stress reaction, traumatic brain injury, or both. Your physician can assist in prognostic evaluation.

Up to a year: Patients with concussion can have symptoms of headaches, confusion, emotional lability, sleep disorder for 6 months to a year. History of previous brain surgery may prolong the recovery period from concussion. Check with your doctor to make sure there is no structural problems with the brain, such as edema, bleeding, contusion, that may affect your recovery.
