listen to your body: Acetyl L-carnitine and Alpha lipoic acid block to varying degrees cadmium toxicity. Free cadmium is liberated by stress and can induce high cholesterol and hypertension. In animal studies the two have anti-aging effects in rodents. They are safe to try but are probably no sufficient to reverse all the effects of free cadmium.

Improves weight loss: Study done - one group was given 2000 mg of carnitine, and the other a placebo. In the placebo group, the average weight loss after 12 weeks was one pound. In the carnitine group, weight loss averaged 11 pounds. That’s an eleven-fold increase in weight loss, simply by increasing carnitine levels.

Not really known: That sounds like an advertised product with claims of helping muscles, athletics, or overall health. One should ask her doctor if the product is a real medication, approved by the fda for treating anything. If the product is not a real medicine that has undergone years of testing and research then one cannot tell for sure if it works or not, and one also cannot know what its side effects might be.

Yes-not too much tea: Green tea and l-carnitine are very safe and not known to create any problems in pregnancy. However, very large amounts of green tea might contain enough caffeine to increase risk of miscarriage, but a few cups a day should be fine.
