what is a bible cyst?

Ganglion: Bible cyst is another name for a ganglion cyst. In some cultures the cyst would be smacked with a weighty book like the bible to rupture the cyst and make it "disappear". Oftentimes a wrist injury or fracture could result. Not recommended.

Oral ?: The oral lymphoepithelial cyst develops within a benign lymphoid aggregate or accessory tonsil of the oral or pharyngeal mucosa. The surface of such aggregates may be indented with tonsillar crypts, as are the much larger pharyngeal tonsils of the lateral pharyngeal walls. The crypts may become obstructed by keratin or other debris, or surface opening may become constricted . See ENT doctor.

Is there a such thing as a floating cyst?

1 doctor answer1 doctor weighed in
Dr. Robert Kwok
Pediatrics 33 years experience
Rarely: After looking at google search results, a couple of cases of floating cysts are found. One is a tiny cyst (a little round thing with liquid in the center) floating in the liquid of the eyeball in front of the pupil and iris. Another is a cyst in the abdomen of a fetus (it formed from an ovary that had twisted off its normal connections). Floating cyst just means it is not connected to something.

A 24-year-old member asked:

I have a small bump (maybe cyst) on my pubic area that will puss sometimes. Should I be worried? What can it be?

Maybe? Infection?: In the pubic area, this is most likely an infected hair follicle or small skin abscess. It could be due to MRSA a very common and painful staph infection seen commonly today. You may have a sebaceous cyst as well. If it were lower down on the lips of the vaginal area, one would be concerned with a bartholin's cyst. Use lots of soap and water, antibiotic ointment and observe. If worse get seen.
