what can a pain in the carotid going up to the ear be?

Dr. Nicolas Mouawad

TMJ: It is difficult to say without a full exam, but most pain in that region is actually from the temperomandibular joint (tmj). Disorders of the TMJ such as arthritis or clicking can produce pain by the ear, at and around the jaw, and some facial pain.
