isn't it hypocritical for a doctor who is an addiction specialist to have a drug addiction?

No: No, because the addiction specialist is helping those who want help with their addiction or need help for their addiction, if he is addicted he probably does not want treatment for his addiction. Just because you have an addiction doesnt take away your knowledge of treating the addiction for those who want the help.

It would b improbabl: 4an addiction specialist 2 b an addict, but yes it would b hypocritical. Drs r people 2, and if he has a dr that he sees who is treating him with prescription drugs in reasonable amounts 4 a legitimate issue and he is not an impaired physician, that is different than being an addict.
