Is it possible a portable heater could make my nursery a little too humid & warm, causing my babies to get sick more easily?

Unlikely : Heaters will actually dry out a room, not make it humid. Often, the humidity can drop 10% or more in a room with a heater compared to the rest of the house.A simple humidity gauge can help you monitor the situation. Many run on button batteries and can register rapid change in humidity. The preferred humidity within a kid space runs 40-45%.Above 50% you increase dust mites, below 30% they cough.
