Otolaryngologist: Although it is an uncommon site  for one, I would be concerned about the presence of an abscess. Therefore I recommend that you be examined by an otolaryngologist for diagnosis and treatment.

i have covid and i have painful swallowing and some white spots (maybe pus?) on the edge and slightly behind my inflamed palatopharyngeal arch. is this normal for covid or could this be a secondary bacterial infection?

: Exudative pharyngitis is an immune response and can occur from both viruses and bacteria (usually strep). Since strep needs to be treated we usually do a strep test, but a rule of thumb says if no other viral symptoms (i.e. stuffy nose), assume strep. 2ndary infection usually has fever spike, increased pain, &amp; an abscess that causes asymmetrical swelling days later and needs medical attention ASAP

several months with left tonsil enlarged with purple-bruise like spot, swollen tissue behind palatopharyngeal arch with metallic taste, ear pain and swelling/ tenderness probably of lymph node on neck under ear. many specialists: none coincide?

: One enlarged tonsil without overt pathology isn't concerning.  But in view of your other somewhat nondiagnostic symptoms, I would recommend one more opinion from an otolaryngologist at a department of otololaryngology at a university hospital near you. I hope this would reassure you that you have no serious throat or ear pathology.

i have a cold, pink eye (mostly gone), and last night stabbing pain and fullness in my left ear and throat pain on left side. this morning i saw a small smooth red bump on my left palatopharyngeal arch right behind tonsil. cancer? doctor immediately?

Unlikely: Cancer is unlikely in above scenario. Seeing your doc might help in putting a plan together and getting a baseline eval. In case more tests are needed, such as a culture they can be obtained at the time of your visit.

Leukoplakia: You have shared no information with us especially if you smoke, your medical history or medications which makes it impossible to provide you a relevant differential diagnosis; however, what you are describing is suspicious for dysplasia or leukoplakia and may be neoplastic. This needs to be seen by ENT for eval and biopsy very soon. If you use nicotine stop.

Lumps: Any pain, bleeding, or as in your case, swelling, should be evaluated.  In other words see your PCP or Urgent Care (not ER) for differential diagnosis and then treatment or observation recommendation.

my palatopharyngeal arch on the left side extends to the uvula and also downward; it also appears to be split from top to bottom.  it may have always been like this but i don't know?  i thought at first it was the tonsil, but is not. is this normal?

: It is not usual. Abnormal suggests that there something wrong.In this case it's unlikely since you have no symptoms or problems. Yes, you could of had this from birth or even sometime of oral injury.

i ate fish and its bone stuck in palatopharyngeal arch, in something like hole. i can't take it out. what should i do? is it dangerous?
