About

Bio

My name is Carlos A Villanueva, MD, and I am a Pediatric Urologist practicing at Childrens Hospital & Medical Center of Omaha. I am also an Assistant Professor of Urology in the Department of Surgery, Division of Urologic Surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. In my clinical practice at Childrens, I evaluate and treat children with congenital and acquired genitourinary problems. At the University of Nebraska Medical Center, I see adults with complex congenital genitourinary malformations and conditions. I operate at both Childrens and UNMC. I have a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery, using the HIDES technique (Hidden Incision Endoscopic Surgery) as well as hypospadias surgery

A male asked:

Visit a doc: Would recommend to visit your PCP or a urologist to get this looked at. Possibilities include herpes, condilloma (HPV) and other more rare diseases.
A male asked:
Dr. Carlos Villanueva del rio
Pediatric Urology 18 years experience
Yes: I normally just have families apply plain Vaseline but my partners use antibiotic ointment. I don't think it makes a difference.
A 26-year-old male asked:
Dr. Carlos Villanueva del rio
Pediatric Urology 18 years experience
Varies: It really depends on the technique your surgeon will use and the severity of the hypospadias. For mild cases of hypospadias I would anticipate no sex for a few weeks and a catheter for a few days. Mild activity for a few days also.
