About

Bio

I have been a full-scope Family Medicine Physician licensed in Texas since 1997. Most of my professional life has been in the military with assignments in Florida, Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas, Nevada, and California. I have practiced Family Medicine in large clinics, small clinics, small community hospitals, and large teaching facilities over my career. I have enjoyed taking care of patients across all ages (from newborns to geriatrics) and including OB care. I was drawn to Family Medicine for the patients and nearly 20 years later- it is still true. The words of Dr. Lynn Carmichael from 1965 still ring true for me...."Family medicine is not general practice. The latter is diseases centered and based on episodic care. Family medicine is health oriented, and offers comprehensive attention to the family ” Although telemedicine is not a traditional office visit, I feel that great care can still be rendered and I am excited for its future.

Specialties
Doctors may have more than one area of specialty interest. Board certification in a specialty area means the doctor has completed formal training and has practice experience in that specialty, and has passed the certification examination from the corresponding accredited medical specialty board.
