Dr. Graef is an award winning sleep medicine physician. He is very passionate about patient care and is a patient and ethics advocate. He has worked with patients and trained physicians from around the world. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Akron City Hospital in Akron, OH. He then completed a full time sleep medicine fellowship at Henry Ford Health System, one of the most renowned programs in the United States. He also trained at the prestigious Stanford University Sleep Medicine Center, in Palo Alto, CA, the first sleep medicine center in the world. He has done research on sleep, call, and fatigue in medical residents with the physicians at Harvard Brigham and Womens physicians hospital, in Boston, MA.
He brought his skills to North Carolina in 2015 after creating and building the 1st full time sleep medicine program at Summa Health system in Akron, OH. He is board certified under the new American Board of Internal Medicine Sleep Medicine exam. He practices ethical, compassionate, evidence based clinical sleep medicine.
He sees ages 16 and up and treats conditions such as sleep apnea, snoring, insomnia, restless legs, narcolepsy shift work and jet leg. He is here to help you with your sleep problem and review sleep studies and other documents you may already have. He welcomes your virtual visit, 2nd opinion and continuing care. Please record a few of your vitals prior to visit, such as blood pressure, oxygen saturation, pulse and temperature.
Dr Graef is also able to coordinate sleep studies and cpap/bilevel devices and supplies with your primary physician, if needed. Please set an appointment, as opposed to immediate access, as he sees patients by appointment only. He often performs other tasks, such as reading sleep studies or evaluating cpap, unless an ACTUAL APPOINTMENT is made. His profile often shows "on break" when he is available.
