Dr Safir was born in New York City and was offered admission to an accelerated medical training program at Northwestern University in Chicago. His first choice, he completed residency in urology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He was offered and completed two prestigious additional years of advanced surgical training in Female Urology (UCLA) and Male Genital Reconstruction (UCSF). He has served as Chief of Reconstructive and Female Urology at New York Medical College.
He specializes in the new field of Reconstructive Urology but is also sought after as a consultant in general urology (Erectile Dysfunction, Urinary Incontinence, Urinary Stone Disease and Genito-Urinary Cancer.
