I am double board certified in Internal Medicine and Preventive Medicine and have a Master of Public Health. I have over 15 years experience in primary care practice. My expertise is in women's health, preventive medicine, cancer screening, smoking cessation, hypertension, diabetes, asthma, emphysema, heart disease, high cholesterol, thyroid diseases and osteoporosis. I was an assistant professor of medicine at Rush University and Cook County Hospital in Chicago and later at UCLA Geffen school of medicine. I was the patient safety officer at Cook County Hospital and associate program director of the preventive medicine fellowship. My academic interests are in teaching and clinical research. I am the associate editor of SGIM Forum and peer reviewer of several medical journals. I am also a member of the California steering committe for Doctors for America. I believe in compassionate and kind care of patients via evidence based medicine.
