Maybe: Hiccups can be caused by irritation of the diaphragm. If he has jaundice and light color stool, he may have a gallbladder or liver condition that could certainly irritate the diaphragm and cause hiccups. I recommend that he be evaluated for those conditions by his doctor.

Yes: You are losing weight at the recommended rate of 1 lb per week. As long as the change that you have made are understood as lifestyle changes and not just changes that are made until you get to your goal weight, you are doing very well. Keep up the good work.

A 29-year-old male asked:
Dr. Marissa Chesney
General Practice 12 years experience
Not normally: You did not mention your symptoms, and I assume that you mean upper respiratory tract infection. It is not normal for that to last a year, but often what is called an upper respiratory tract infection is actually allergies or a side effect of medication (such as a cough from Lisinopril or other ACE-I) or reflux or asthma. It would be best for you to be examined by your doctor.

Depends: The new recommendations are for most patients to keep their blood pressure below 140/90. If you are 60 year or older with no other health problems like diabetes, heart disease, or kidney disease, the recommended blood pressure is 150/90.

Maybe: From what I understand in the packaging of shelf-stable milk such as Tetra pack, there is no additional preservatives. The milk is ultra-pasteurized, and the packaging is sterile, allowing long-term storage without refrigeration. However, it is not recommended to start cow's milk products until your baby is at least 1 year old.

Unsure: It is difficult to say, given this little information. Whether it is to be expected or not depends on what the surgery was for, what type of anesthesia was used, your general medical health/fitness, etc.
