About

Bio

Grew-up in NYC, received my undergraduate degree at Cornell University. Then returned back to the city and attended Columbia University, where I earned a Masters degree in nutrition. From there I again headed up north to medical school, finally leaving the east coast to complete my internal medicine residency and practice in San Francisco.

Probably not...: It depends on the amount of vitamin D and calcium in the supplemental doses. Discuss this with your regular doctor and they will be able to tell you an appropriate dose to take. There are other factors to consider, such as your vitamin d level and medical history. Also, take a look at the amounts of each in the multivitamin and other supplements. This will make your discussion more productive.

Needlestick risk HIV: No, you don't need to be tested again. Conversion to HIV + will occur within 3 months, in almost all people. The CDC recommends a test be done at 6 months and if negative, the infection has not been transmitted. You can relax now.
