I received and undergraduate degree in Biology at Villanova University in 1975, I then went on to medical school at Temple University, graduating in 1979, did Family Medicine residency at UNC-Chapel Hill 1979-1982, and followed that with a fellowship in Addiction Medicine at UNC, 1982-83. I've been in practice since 1982 doing Family Medicine in North Carolina and, over the past 20 years, have practiced Emergency Medicine, as well. I was also a medical examiner for 30 years and have done selected defense expert work to defend family practitioners against frivolous lawsuits.
On a personal level, I am married with 3 grown children. I enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities and exercise, enjoy gardening, love to travel.
