I am originally from New York City and went to college at University of Pennsylvania, Boston University School of Medicine, and completed my OB-GYN residency at Emory. I have been in private practice for 30 years in Maplewood, NJ.
I initially wanted to be a Pediatrician. However it was during my surgery rotation as a 3rd year med student that I operated with the Chief Resident on a young woman with a ruptured tubal pregnancy. He literally snatched her from the jaws of certain death due to massive hemorrhage by exercising the most impressive surgical skills that I had ever seen. I was hooked! This was for me. OB-GYN is a combination of Medicine, Surgery, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Oncology and even Psychiatry, all rolled into one big package. It is the only specialty that focuses upon the WHOLE Female Patient.
I have enjoyed an incredible journey over these 30 years and what I find most satisfying is that I am now delivering babies on patients who I delivered over 20 years ago! Caring for three generations within the same families makes me feel as if I have come "full circle". Extremely gratifying experience!
