I trained in Chemistry at UNC Chapel Hill and received an MD from ECU School of Medicine. I have practiced general and emergency medicine and I trained in general surgery and orthopaedic surgery at the University of Hawaii. I completed a sports medicine, shoulder, elbow and knee fellowship at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic (now Steadman-Philippon) in Vail, Colorado. I have extensive research experience and was a pioneer in the clinical application of stem cell technology. My knowledge base is extremely broad and I consult for medical device companies and provide support for VC investment in research and development. I am very direct.
