I grew up in New Jersey, and stayed on the East Coast until the early 80's, when I attended Stanford University. Didn't know what courses to take when I arrived, so I asked around. Most people recommended a course called Human Biology, which was very popular because it was founded by the then-President of Stanford, Donald Kennedy.
This course had two parts to it, an "A" side which dealt with straightforward science, and a "B" side which was humorously nicknamed the "fuzzy" side, because it dealt with what were felt by the hardcore science people as "warm and fuzzy" topics such as Anthropology, Psychology, and Sociology.
But I loved both sides to this course, and my love of everything related to the general topic of restoring vitality to one's life led me to not only study, but immerse myself in many different healing environments, from a month-long silent meditation in India to a stint in Fiji as Tony Robbins' Medical Director when he was putting the finishing touches on his redesigned Life Mastery course.
I am now at a crossroads in my career in Medicine. Although what firmly remains in myself is a desire to truly help people on all levels in as rapid a way as possible, the current medical system that I am now at the mercy of
---rewards me for seeing more patients in as little time as possible,
---requires me to use a computer system for my documentation which is constantly crashing, and,
---is so busy that my attention is routinely interrupted once every 5 minutes or so...
In short, stands in the way of my being able to HELP people the way that I would like to help them, the way I dreamed of helping people when I first considered becoming a doctor many years ago.
This is why I am blessed that a company such as HealthTap is now available, because now you, my patient, can get the time and full attention that you deserve, and I, your doctor, can draw upon my extensive experience and experience the luxury of MY own uninterrupted time with you!
