Dr. Carcione is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology with Added Qualifications & Certification in Neuromuscular Medicine. He also holds boards in pain management from the American Academy of Pain Management. He has attained New York State certification as a physician acupuncturist. He is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the American College of Physician Executives. Dr. Carcione is actively involved in policy, procedure, and the strategic development of various health care initiatives. He has served on numerous panels setting up pain management practices and has acted as a management consultant, in both the public and private sectors, in the areas of provider practice management, medical risk management, medicolegal consulting and pharmacoeconomics. He is an active board member for the New York State Office of Professional Medical Conduct. Dr. Carcione serves as an author and editor for www.webMD.com and www.emedicine.com. Dr. Carcione’s interests are largely in the fields of neuromuscular disease, neuromusculoskeletal and occupational disorders, clinical neurophysiology and the use of medical acupuncture, Travel injection therapy and manipulative medicine in their management. He is an expert electromyographer and performs a large number of electromyography procedures each year. In addition, he is well versed in the practice and technique of medical acupuncture and osteopathic manipulative medicine, continuing to service patients from the New York Tri-state area.
