Dentist: A fistula/pimple is a sign of active infection. You need to see your dentist or endodontist to determine the source of the infection and decide on best course of treatment. A gp will give you antibiotic and tell you to see the dentist.

Call your dentist: It could be post op inflammation. You need to treat the tooth like a sprained ankle and avoid it until it starts to heal. Make sure when you bite yiur teeth together you don’t hit that tooth first. One of the most common post op issues can be that you hit the tooth to hard which can delay healing and make the discomfort linger. You need to be seen to check the bite and check for active infection.

Cleaning and Filling: A root canal is a procedure done to remove the source of a tooth problem without removing the tooth. Inside the tooth there is a chamber that contains the pulp. What an Endodontist will do is use small instruments, that are shaped like the pulp chamber and disinfectants to clean the chamber. After cleaning, a special filling is used to seal the clean pulp chambers in the roots.

It shouldn't: When you get a root canal, you will get numb. You shouldn't feel anything. If for some reason you do, which can happen, like with a filling, let the Dentist know and he/she will get you more numb.

Myofascial pain: Sometimes the procedure and injections can create stress on the muscles you use to chew. These muscles can strain, or spasm the same way other muscles in your body can. When these muscles get strained they can result in headaches, cheekbone soreness etc.
