Howard M. Haft, MD, MMM, CPE, FACPE
Dr. Haft has been licensed to practice medicine since 1974. He was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Rhode Island, attended Medical School at Pennsylvania State University, and took post-graduate Internship and Residencies at Brown University. Dr. Haft is Board Certified as a specialist in both Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. Following his residency at Brown, he held an academic position at the University of California, Davis as an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Psychiatry. He has a Master’s degree from Tulane University in Medical Management (MMM). He is recognized by the American Board of Physician Executives as a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) and as a Fellow of the ACPE. He served as an Adjunct Professor in the McDonough Graduate School of Business (American Healthcare Marketplace course).

He served as the President of Maryland Healthcare, a multispecialty clinic in Southern Maryland and as President of the Maryland Foundation for Quality Healthcare, a non-profit, American Diabetes Association (ADA) recognized healthcare education organization and as Medical Director and Board member of Health Partners, Inc., a free clinic serving Charles County, Maryland. Dr. Haft served as the Medical Director of Shah Associates, a multi-specialty private group practice with over 100 providers in five Maryland counties. These practices have established care management programs ACO’s and NCQA recognized PCMH programs. Dr. Haft has also served as Chief Executive officer of the Ellis Medical Group a 250 provider multispecialty hospital and community based practice in New York.
Dr. Haft served as an appointed Board Member of the American College of Physician Executives (2012-14). He is currently serving as Cohort Leader for the ACPE Certified Physician Executive program, as a Trustee to the Maryland State Medical Society (Med C
