I focus on the whole person/family in therapy. There are generally multiple things going on and I attempt to help the client priortize the most important areas and strategize ways to find some improvement as quickly as possible, although as with any therapy it can be a lengthy process. I believe it is important for the individual to be an active participant in developing the treatment goals and determining the desired outcome of treatment. I typically focus on working with adolescents and their families, but do have considerable experience working with adults as well.I believe that in order for an individual to see lasting improvement there must be changes to the person's environment as well as to their own outlook on life. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches help one to change their thought processes and in turn develop greater hope for change.I do have a sliding fee scale so that my services can be more accessible to individuals who are bound by financial constraints. I am also able to accept credit cards as means for payment to further assist clients in receiving the help they need.
