I earned my medical degree and completed my residency in General Surgery at Instituto Superior de Ciencias Médicas, Camagüey, Cuba. I was then appointed as an Attending Surgeon at my alma mater, and later I relocated as a Consultant Surgeon at Edendale Hospital in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. After two years in South Africa I made my way to the United States, where I was granted political asylum and later became an American citizen. I finished my internship in General Surgery at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, and completed my residency in General Surgery at University of South Florida College of Medicine, Tampa, FL. Afterward I joined ABC Surgical Associates in Belleville, NJ; a successful single specialty group of private surgeons, where I practiced for five years. In 2015 I relocated to Miami, FL; where I have been establishing my private practice in General Surgery. I am board certified in General Surgery and I have been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) since 2012. I am also a member of The International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHPBA), The Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT), and The Society of Robotic Surgery (SRS). I specialize in General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, and Robotic Surgery.
